We all have different reasons, but I’m guessing we can probably agree to working for yourself sounds pretty freaking awesome, don’t you think?
I’m a lifelong entrepreneur.
I’ve had my fair share of jobs, but I always felt so trapped. I caught myself always trying to make my job something cooler than it was. I could never buy into the clock in and clock and out look busy while you’re here kind of thing. I’m a GOAL-GETTER and I want to have a goal and do whatever I need to get there WHEN I WANT TO. If it takes me 15 minutes one day, awesome. If I stay up til midnight the next – so be it.
When I got pregnant with my first daughter, my husband and I both knew that we wanted me to be able to stay home with our children. I’ve wanted to be a mama since before I can remember, and I didn’t want to miss out on one second of their little lives. I started teaching mommy and me fitness classes which has been an amazing outlet for me AND my kids (and a great way to meet mama friends!) but I knew there had to be something more.
That’s where essential oils came in. When I first was introduced to oils I didn’t know a thing about them, but when I saw how quickly they worked on my sick baby – I wanted to learn more. I got started with my first kit of oils and before I knew it I was using oils for dang near everything in my life and I couldn’t help but share them with everyone I knew!
Once I learned more about the amazing opportunities with doTERRA as a business, I knew that THIS was where I wanted to be. The fact that I could earn a full-time income from home with my little kids climbing all over me, no matter where we lived was a GAME CHANGER for me. As a football family, there are frequent and inevitable moves all over the country. If I knew that all of the work I poured into my business could just move right along with me, I KNEW I could be successful. Plus, I got plugged into a team where there was so much education and support, I have never felt alone!
I love the fact that I can run my business the way I WANT TO. Remember that little gypsy employee of the past? Well now I really can do whatever I want, whenever I want. I can sit in my kitchen at naptime with a big pot of coffee and oils diffusing and work on my mission to bring essential oils to every family, everywhere!
And what is being self-employed if it’s not a little bit fun? You might even catch my team having a skype training over wine and mud masks!
So where do you fit in?
