Wow! It's been exactly one year since my first blog post here at Home Field Fitness - and what a year it has been! I wanted to celebrate with cupcakes (because what else would you celebrate with?) but decided to make them a little healthier and fall-inspired since yesterday was the first day of fall! I used Jen's recipe on her blog Peanut Butter Runner for Spiced Zucchini Carrot Bread. I subbed gluten free flour and left out the nuts. And of course baked them in muffin tins. They are TO DIE FOR. I opted to add frosting to a few - because it's not a birthday celebration without frosting - duh. To be honest though, I'm glad I didn't frost them all! They are perfect without it, and as I'm typing this and licking frosting off my fingers, my mouth actually HURTS from the sweetness. Gah!
While I write this blog as (hopefully) a resource to you for workouts, healthy recipes and a peek into my football wife life, it also serves as a bit of a journal for me. I love looking back on old posts and remembering back to each of those moments.
In honor of my 1 year blog anniversary I thought I would share some of my favorite moments and posts from the last 365 days.
In honor of my 1 year blog anniversary I thought I would share some of my favorite moments and posts from the last 365 days.
- My husband started coaching at a new school and we rang in the 2013 season with this Stadium Workout.
- We got a PUPPY! You'll have to just look back at posts...she makes her appearance quite often. Miss Oakley has turned into quite the running buddy, big sister and my favorite couch cuddler.
- I traveled to Hawaii for an amazing vacation with my little sis. Who knew it would be our last time together without kiddos? I got to spend a week on the Marine Corp Base and it inspired me to create this Marine Corp Core Workout.
- I spent almost a year working at a beautiful ranch. I posted about a day with some bison, and I also shared my favorite banana bread recipe!
- I went on a midnight run on New Years Eve. My new favorite tradition!
- We found out that we were pregnant!
- March Madness came around once again and I created this workout!
- We found out we were were having a SHE!
- We ate a TON of this Inside-Out Sushi. So yummy.
- Our Babymoon!
- I've cut back to work in fitness just part time, so I can be home with the baby. That means we have to double check out budget! I share some of my food budgeting tricks here.
- We met our new baby girl!
- Football season came around again and we took some adorable pictures of Makena!
Thanks for joining me on this journey and I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for me and my blog!
