HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of you awesome moms out there...and moms to be! I've had so many friends become new moms this year, and have a whole new appreciation for what mom's go through! I've been blessed with an amazing mom and I'm so lucky to have her in my life - living fairly nearby and always just a phone call away! Today I'm going to do a quick re-cap of our adventures last weekend!
Last weekend we took advantage of a a last minute break in my husband's schedule to book and enjoy our "Baby Moon" that my in-laws so graciously gifted us! We have lived in Southern CO for just over a year, and I have been wanting to go check out nearby Santa Fe - so we finally took a trip!
It was so fun to get away together and explore someplace new! We had great sunny weather the whole time we were there too! We kicked off the weekend with massages at Body of Santa Fe. This place was AWESOME. I would totally be a regular to their yoga classes, cafe and spa if I lived closer. I had a prenatal massage where she worked on my hips and legs and shoulders. I haven't been so relaxed in a LONG time - and I had an amazing nights sleep that night finally too! We wrapped up our time at BODY with a banana, kale, blueberry smoothie and a vegan/gluten free GIGANTIC chocolate chip cookie. I was in heaven.
We stayed at the Hilton downtown and it was wonderful to have such easy access to the historic downtown plaza! We spent a lot of time wondering the plaza, window shopping and pretending to be cultured in the art galleries. It was even warm enough to enjoy reading a book out by the pool! HEAVEN!
Dinner was at The Pink Adobe - and it was delicious! I had a Poblano Relleno filled with cheese, walnuts and pomegranate seeds. After we enjoyed our trio of dips with chips of course! I'm fully enjoying my last few months of eating cheese...since I'm pretty sure my lactose intolerance is going to return after this baby makes her arrival!
I'm a total hotel nerd and get super excited about things like breakfast buffets and fitness centers. Funny because it's nothing new...but I just can't help dork out about it. We had a yummy hot breakfast buffet with LOADS of fresh fruit (if I had that at my house I'd be in heaven!) and even some homemade granola. After breakfast I did a little workout in the fitness center. There is something about hotel fitness centers that just draws me in. While some people would want to get as far from the gym as possible on vacation - working out on vacation is one of my favorite things! I love having a little bit of time to myself, and the change in environment is always motivating. I watched some E! Fashion Police while on the elliptical, and then tested out the weights with a simple circuit. Check it out below! Then we were off to the plaza again!
We wrapped up our trip with a grocery shopping at Trader Joe's. Only the BEST PLACE EVER! I just HAD to do some shopping there before we left town! We stocked up on some basic essentials, wine for our dog-sitter and of course...Joe Joes. My FAV.
For those of you wondering about the whereabouts of Miss Oakley during our getaway...she was having the time of her life hanging out with her friends at the ranch. Here she is on the drive out there. She kills me.
How about you?
