Better Late than Never

Remember back when I shared about Aubrey's 6 week fitness program? Well, she finished it...a while ago and then LIFE HAPPENED! But I didn't want to miss the chance to share about her successes as well as a big surprise!

If you want to read the other posts about her online training program you can read them here and here. You can also get to know her better on her own blog here.
Aubrey did great...and only to find out during week 6 that she was pregnant! What an awesome way to start a fit pregnancy! I have to share her pregnancy announcement because it's just too cute!

Aubrey's 6 Week Goals/Results

Goal #1: I would like to take off at least one minute from my mile time and walk less than 400 meters.

Result:  Aubrey cut her mile time by 52 seconds and didn't walk at all! She also improved on her minute pushup test by 11 reps and on her minute situp test by 4!
"I was thrilled that in just 6 weeks, I could reduce the amount that I walked to nothing!"

Goal #2: I would like to lose a total of 5 inches all around. I plan to gain muscle mass, tone up, and lose body fat.

Result: Aubrey lost a total of 5.5 inches!
"I was actually shocked about that! It was a goal but I did not realize that in 6 weeks, that could be a possibility. I feel more fit and toned and more ready to take on the changes of being pregnant."

Goal #3: I would like to cut out at least 1 cup of coffee a day (on average I drink 3) and I would like to add at least 1 more serving of fruit and 1 more of vegetables a day.

Result: "I definitely was able to cut down to about 2 cups of coffee daily and even went down to one on some days! With more natural energy from working out, I no longer needed the extra. I think it had a huge part in being able to almost completely cut out caffeine now that I'm pregnant because my body no longer craved it as much. I was also able to eat a lot more veggies throughout the day by adding in at least one snack with them and always having a side for dinner. Thankfully I love fruit and love to snack on berries, apples or mangoes so this one was not as much of a struggle but I did make an effort to make a smoothie almost daily to add that extra serving."

Goal #4:  I would like to meal plan for every week with at least 2 meals being grain-free

Result: "I struggled with the 2 meals being grain free as I never felt like I was feeding my husband enough calories or sustenance but I did find quite a few fun recipes that I experimented with and we still enjoyed. I still made a switch to more whole grains, quinoa and brown rice and less white pastas or breads. I definitely meal planned a lot more and it not only helped our diet, it also helped out our budget! I found a new love in meal planning and find it fun to see what new recipes I can incorporate during the week."

I'm so proud of Aubrey for sticking with the program even through those initial weeks of pregnancy exhaustion. Making healthy choices early on in pregnancy will work wonders later on in her journey. Here is a quote I shared in her final week:
