It's that time again - BUMP DATE TIME! I passed my glucose test last week (thank goodness I can keep eating dessert!!!!) and things have been going pretty well.! This bump here sure is popping out and the little Miss is moving ALL THE TIME. I'm going to have two little monkeys on my hands before I know it!
How many weeks - 24 weeks
Fruit - A cantaloupe! Or, according to this hilarious chart I found online - she's the size of an Atlantic Puffin. Not quite as horrifying as the chipmunk I had in my belly just a few weeks ago.
Gender -It's a girl!
I'm feeling... Great! So thankful (still!) to be having such a good pregnancy. I've had a few days of being utterly wiped out, but other than that I have good energy my body feels strong. I am extra sensitive to heat though, which is going to pose a bit of a problem as summer hits here in South Texas. Please - send popsicles and fans.
Cravings - nothing really! I'm all about yummy muffins and a good iced almond chai latte but hey, who isn't? I'm trying to increase veggies in my diet because those are just whatever.
Fitness - I don't do much running at this point except for a little warm-up jog at Moms in Motion. I try to get out for a walk with Miss Mak and Miss Oakley at least once a day, and we're still going strong with 3 days a week of strength or yoga with my mama friends. Also, does vacuuming count as fitness? I swear that's more of a workout than going to the gym!
Sleep - Pretty good! I'm stiff when I wake up in the morning and I miss sleeping on my belly, but otherwise I'm still sleeping well - as long as Miss Mak cooperates. It's like she's trying to prepare me for sleepless nights. "Don't worry darling - I'm fully aware. If you could just let me get a few nights of sleep before your sister arrives that would be great..."
Mood - As long as I've gotta a good night's sleep - pretty good! No real hormone swings I don't think...ask my hubby!
Clothes - I have the best friends ever you guys. I have an ENTIRE closet of maternity clothes that are all cuter than the clothes I had before. On a slightly related note though - what is with maternity and stripes? I swear my closet is 75% horizontal stripes. I'm wearing all maternity now except for a few stretchy waist bottoms.
Stretch Marks - So far so good! I've been using my homemade belly butter which seems to be doing it's job!
Belly Button - Still in!
Best Part - Over the past month I think the best part has been the sinking in of having another girl. I feel like I've bonded with her more now that I know, and have been having fun thinking and planning for our future family! Another highlight has been when Miss Mak snuggles up on top of my belly and chest. Pretty much every time she does this, her little sister starts to kick. To feel the love of both of my girls at the same time is pretty awesome.
Worst Part - Peeing a thousand times a day! This didn't really happen to me the first time around but this little nugget sure likes to trampoline on my bladder! Whew!
