Bumpdate {28 weeks}

6/6/2016

0 Comments

It's time for another bump-date! These months just keep cruising along and here we are in the THIRD TRIMESTER! It's about to GET REAL my friends. I'm kind of wishing I didn't remember the huge-ness that is to come. And the labor. And the recovery. Really, it's better when you just don't know. It's also time for me to get cracking on my to-do list before baby! Coach is doing some painting projects while we're out of town and I've gotten most of my must-haves...so now it's time for busy boxes for Miss Mak and prepping some meals!

How many weeks - 28 weeks

Size - Baby is the size of an eggplant! Over 2 lbs and over 14 inches! No wonder she's squirming around for room in there! I have an ultrasound in another week so we'll see if she's really on track with these average sizes.

Gender - It's a girl!

I'm feeling - still pretty good! I definitely have some tired days and bending over is getting tough. I've also been feeling REALLY out of shape! It's challenging when your body has a job to do and  you only have so much control over it for a while. It's hard not to question if I should have been more active so far or eaten better, or try to figure out how to not gain more weight than I did last time, but I'm really working hard at accepting my body and what it needs to do this time around. Easier said than done!

Cravings - No strong cravings, but definitely not a fan of sweet potatoes or avocados. Other than that I'm up for pretty much anything! I would kill for some sushi and margaritas though!

Fitness - Pretty much my fitness has just been walking with a little strength and stretching thrown in. I've been visiting family in Colorado so I've missed doing Moms in Motion workouts - it's tough to motivate myself to do them on my own! I have, however gotten A LOT more walking in here, with the beautiful parks and trails and hiking we have out our backdoor it sure makes it easy! I really do feel better when I'm doing strength workouts, so I'm setting a goal to do them 4x a week (even if it's just for 10 minutes) through the next few months! I usually put together something myself or use a workout from Knocked-Up Fitness. I love them!

Sleep - I'm really only comfortable sleeping on my left side now, but as long as Miss Mak has a good night, I usually do too. I find myself waking up really stiff since I can't move around much anymore!

Mood - Happy! I've had my bouts of stress and worrying about handling the 2 kiddos, especially on days when Miss Mak is especially strong-willed, but in general I think I've held up pretty well so far.

Clothes -  Bring on the big stuff. I feel like I'm wearing the clothes I wore in my last few weeks of my first pregnancy which doesn't do a lot for the self-esteem I mentioned earlier! I'm already finding a lot of my clothes to be tight so I might be in the market for a few more things to get me through this last trimester comfortably!

Stretch Marks - None yet!

Belly Button - It's stretching out wide but not quite flat and not popping out! It will be a miracle if it makes the next 12 weeks without popping!

Best Part - When Miss Mak first noticed my tummy moving when baby was kicking. She was so enamored! Over the past 4 weeks it's also been great to start getting out newborn clothes again! From some adorable stuff I received at my shower to getting our hand-me-downs back from my little sis, it's so fun to think about dressing a new little one! And I know we did this about 2 years ago but it's crazy how fast you forget how itty bitty they are!

Worst Part - Pregnancy brain. It's the real deal, y'all. I remember being indecisive last time around, but with half my brain already sucked out by child number 1, this pregnancy has done a number on my brain power. I lose my phone constantly. I forget what I'm saying mid-sentence. I make a thousands of trips a day up stairs to get something I forgot (thank goodness we live in a 1 story and I only have to do stairs in Colorado!). I'm super thankful for graceful friends who keep me on track in our conversations. And a helpful husband who will usually remind me to check for things before I go out the door (after making fun of me, of course!)
