Hey hey! Who's ready for a smoothie?? I had to finally share this "recipe" (if you can call it that) with you guys! It was honestly probably one of the first smoothies I ever made at home back in high school, and it continues to be one of my favorites - and my hubby's too!
Choco-Banana Smoothie
Here's what you need:
- A blender
- 2 bananas - yellow or brownish - not green
- 2 cups milk (cows, rice almond...)
- 1 large scoop chocolate protein powder
OR....chocolate milk AND chocolate protein powder if you just can't get enough
- 6 ice cubes
- 2 tbsp nut butter (peanut, almond, sunbutter...)
Blend until super creamy and smooth. Drink while gushing about how it's your favorite smoothie. Or how you feel like a monkey. SERVES 2
The nutrition facts will very depending on what kind of milk, nut butter and protein powder you use. I've honestly made it with all different combinations of the above things and it always turns out wonderful! You can omit the nut butter if you want to go lower calorie or if you just don't like that combo. We used to make it without it all the time.
The bananas provide a serving of fruit as well as nutrients like potassium. The milk has protein and calcium (more or less depending on your choice), the protein powder has protein (duh) and the nut butter provides a healthy fat and a good source of protein while making the texture nice and creamy. And delicious.
