Happy Wednesday! Who is doing something healthy today? I'm headed out for a cool morning walk with my little snuggle bug in a few minutes! Life these days is all about cuddles, milk and poo...and I absolutely love it. I will be posting another baby update soon, but in the meantime, I want to share this month's "Fit Life in the Spotlight" with with you!
Meet Elaine - wife of Terry, the head athletic trainer at Colorado State University. Not only does she spend her time supporting her husband's team in the fall, she is also mom to two adorable kiddos, a Pampered Chef consultant, a runner and a great example of a fit chick!

How did your fitness journey begin?
I have always been very active growing up but I slowed down until I moved to Colorado 9 years ago. I started doing some running with Nadia (my oldest) in the stroller, then I would do early morning runs without her as a way to de-stress.
What do you eat for breakfast?
I have 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites scrambles with a 1/4 of sauteed sweet potato. And...COFFEE!
How about favorite post workout snack?
I wish I was better on this but a lot of times it is whatever is laying around. I usually have some fruit.
What is the biggest challenge in balancing work, being a mom, being a sports wife and staying healthy?
I have a challenge of finding time for me. I am constantly shuffling kids and trying to make sure they see their dad enough especially during season. The challenge for me is to find time to workout by myself.
You're husband is an athletic trainer - does he help you with your own injuries?
Only if I really really really beg him!
What motivates you?
Showing my kids that staying healthy is really not hard and it is a lot of fun.
Do you have any training partners?
I do not have training partners because when I can work out is usually on the fly so I have to do it alone.
Any food you absolutely avoid?
Gluten and Dairy.
It's a splurge day - what's your go-to food?
Pizza

I get up and get a quick workout in, pack up for kids volleyball and flag football games, pack a for the CSU football game,go to kids games, the head over to CSU to tailgate briefly and then go cheer on the RAMS!
In what ways does your family get active together?
We love to hike, swim and bike together. We just did a 7 mile hike with the kids and they loved it!
Any advice to share with Home Field readers?
Just because you have little kids don't stop doing what you love to do. You can pack them up and take them or stay home and regret that you didn't get out and do it!
Thanks Elaine and GO RAMS!
