Football Wife Life: Spring Ball

In case you were wondering - we've been in the midst of "Spring Ball" for the past month! Not quite as much time with hubby around, but always a fun sign of the change of seasons and a few steps closer to football season again! Our team's spring game was today - and it turned out to be a PERFECT spring day!  Oakley and I walked over to check out how the team is looking for a little while. Since the furry fans aren't really welcome in football stadiums, I brought her home and came back for the second half on my own. I couldn't miss a chance to bring baby bump to her first game either! It's fun to see hubby back on the field where he is completely in his element.

While we're talking all things football - I've had a couple of things I've been dying to share with you all recently!
First off - we just got this AWESOME quilt that we had made out of a lot (not all, shockingly) of our old Colorado State t-shirts. I was a trainer there, hubby played for 2 years and we both are alum. We also began this crazy-fun football coaching journey there so we have a lot of great memories. And - after years with the program we accumulated a few (dozen) shirts! I am SEW NOT talented in the sewing department but luckily my aunt is! We cut apart all of our shirts, designed the quilt and shipped it off to her to work on. She made the design even better and sewed it all together, and then had a friend do the quilting part. These can be really expensive to have made, so we are really blessed to have my aunt do this for us - we only had to pay for the quilting and materials. Hint - we used a cotton sheet for the backing! It was $10 at Walmart and it's so big, nothing has to be pieced together! I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and it will always be a great way to keep those memories of the start of our football life - without filling up our closet!

I also wanted to show you this - I got this as a Christmas present from my super-sweet mom and it's so perfect for game time! I love that it isn't team specific - just a cute way to show my heart belongs to a coach! She found it on Etsy - and they have a ton of other cute themed necklaces like this one. My little sis got one that says "My heart belongs to a Marine". Fun!

Finally - I couldn't turn down this sweet deal. I just placed an order for these adorable baby leggings! Babyleggings.com is offering an awesome, limited time offer that I heard about from my friend Sara over at The Football Wife. I couldn't turn it down...5 pairs of adorable baby leggings FOR FREE - just pay shipping. I also got some Christmas ones, Hawaiian ones and just plain cute girly ones. Just use the code BABYSAVINGS to get the deal. I can't wait to deck out baby girl in fun football stuff this fall!

Spring is a time of change all over the place. One of the big changes we had here was that two of our coaches left for other jobs. They happened to be the two that had wives I had become really close with! I know it's the nature of the biz...but it still doesn't make it easy to say goodbye to friends! We had a great time having a little girls night out this week and it was fun to spend a few more laughs together before everyone heads their separate ways.
Ok last thing - I found this on Pinterest (there's no source...sorry I can't credit!) but it made me smile. Football wives unite!

Love the quilt! I still want to make one with my old sorority shirts, but doing one out of hubby's shirts is a great idea!

Thanks Elaine! T-shirt quilts are so fun, such a great keepsake! Since we both had collected a big stack of shirts it was cool to be able to combine them for a quilt that has meaning for both of us!
