EDIT: I had this post all ready to publish yesterday, and unfortunately our town was in the path of Hurricane Harvey, so we were busy hunkering down, preparing for the worst. Thankfully for us, the hurricane shifted north and we ended up being on the SW edge, with very minimal storming. Thank the Lord! Not only was my husband home to help us prepare our house (and calm my crazy nerves!), he was also still communicating with and helping our extended football family. Many of the players traveled safely home, and others stayed safe here in town. Not only were we keeping track of our players, but he also became the voice of reassurance to some nervous football moms! Being a coach is so much more than just teaching football! Needless to say, our neighboring towns on the coast (where we so love to visit the beach!) did not fare well in the Category 4 hurricane. Many prayers are needed for the displaced families, businesses and of course the emergency responders.
But now...back to our regularly scheduled blogging...

It's almost football season y'all!!
I always like posting a season kick off post - mostly because I need an excuse to share some adorable pictures. Last year's season went by in a blur of newborn-ness, and I didn't do much to prepare for it, or let's face it, even show up to the family pictures. But we made it this year! Matching clothes and all! Of course I waited til the last minute to think of clothing, so thank goodness I have fashionable friends who coach at the same school who have little girls! Thanks Sara for outfitting basically our entire fam!!!

Here we are, heading into our 3rd season as Javelinas! Phil is coaching the offensive line and is also the run-game coordinator.
My mom gave me the great idea to get a picture of the kids each year by their age number on the field! I realize this will only work until they are 5...but I'm guessing that's about the end of their cooperation anyways, haha!!

I love watching the amazing relationship between these 2 girlies grow. They are so stinking fun at this age!!
And we are so blessed that they have the opportunity to grow up on the field with an amazing family of players and coaches and their families.

It seems like these days there are less and less pictures of me and my main squeeze. Dang cute kids always steal the limelight! So, I always love taking 2 seconds to love on him a little bit! I just love his goofy self, even when we're LITERALLY dying of heat!! It was over 125 degrees out on the field during these pictures. Please pray for a little cooler temps by game day!!
As a coach's wife, I have the unique chance to get to know other women in my shoes all over the country. Some are at high schools, some college, and some pro - and some even work in different sports! No matter what, it's so cool to have that community of people to share the ups and downs of the coaching life with. Most of us love sharing our stories, so there are a lot of bloggers out there! Here are some of my favorite most recent posts!
