Today is the last day of summer! Can you believe it?? As much as I love sweatshirt weather, the end of summer always makes me a little sad. I'm just not quite ready! Southern Colorado sure seems ready for the change of seasons...we woke up to a cool, cloudy day. It really felt like we were waking up to fall! On gloomy days like this my morning coffee is always extra special to me, so I was a little bummed that I couldn't have any today. I think it's been affecting the little one's tummy so I"m taking one for the team and giving up on coffee for now! It's especially hard on days like today!
I quickly snapped out of my gloomy, coffee deprived morning because today was the first day of teaching a "Mommy & Me Boot Camp" class at our local rec center! I was so excited to offer a chance for other moms to get their fitness on while having a little one around. Extra bonus: I get to get my workout in too, and hang out with other fun mamas! AND...this would be Makena's first "class"! Fun!
We had a great turnout, got nice and sweaty and had a lot of fun. It was so great to watch all of those moms interact with their kiddos and be amazing role models too! We had moms pushing strollers while lunging, holding toddlers as extra weight for their squats, and lots of tummy kisses while mom did pushups!
When I take a break from teaching, I quickly forget how much I love to teach fitness classes. The energy I get from the room is unparalleled and it really is just a ton of fun to kick other people's butts! Haha! I'm so thankful that I have this opportunity to teach, and am excited to keep planning creative workouts for these fit moms!
We're spending the rest of our day with a nice long nap, catching up on laundry and hopefully taking Miss Oakley out for an evening walk if it doesn't rain! Oh and I'm also trying a new recipe - One Pot Wonder Chicken Lo Mein. It looks easy and delicious...I hope it turns out!
