Not a real blog post

Ok - truth time. I've got some great posts in the "drafts" area of my blog. I promise promise promise they'll be coming along at some point, hopefully soon. But last night, when I sat down to get a real blog post finished for ya, I ended up in a long snuggle session with my not-so-sleepy baby. When she finally fell asleep while squeezing my finger tight, I just could let her go to get back to work. Just soaking up the moments...and sometimes the rest of life just has to wait.

So since I didn't get a real post finished...here are some quick ramblings for you. My cousin just got to town and I'm planning on doing more family stuff than blogging this week...so you'll have to wait a bit longer for a real blog post. I've got a sweet recipe to share soon though so STAY TUNED!

But before we all head off on our week - HOW 'BOUT THAT SUPER BOWL?!  What a FUN game to watch! I honestly didn't really care who won, but I was cheering for the Seahawks (mostly just to have a little rivalry with my little bro). I'm just happy that it was a close and entertaining game! I definitely ate my fair share of "game-food" and Miss Oakley sure was having a hard time not drooling over the bison nachos, bacon wrapped dates and chicken wings. She sure would have liked to join in on the football feast!

Speaking of entertaining, I'll admit I LOVED the halftime show. Katy Perry was AWESOME! It totally made me want to bust out a Katy Perry playlist and go get my sweat on.

And it's not a Super Bowl without commercials. In general, I was pretty bummed out by all the sad/serious commercials but there were some good ones mixed in. Of course I loved the puppy and horses one (cuz who doesn't love cute puppies and loyal horses?) but my all time fave was the Always commercial #LikeAGirl. What an inspiring and empowering message to send to our kids, and women of all ages! Our media needs more of this positivity. I'm excited to be blessed with a little girl who I can raise to run/throw/swing/fight LIKE A GIRL!
