Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season and were able to have some fun ringing in the New Year last night! Do we all have big plans for 2014? Have you started working on any resolutions yet?
I have a ton of exciting stuff coming down the pipes on this blog that I can't wait to roll out to you in the upcoming weeks. Stay posted for some fun stuff!
But today - I wanted to share with you the fun tradition that we started last night! I can't take the credit - this was all my amazing dad's idea - but it sure was fun! About 10 minutes before midnight (after an evening of napping and football watching) we threw on our warm running clothes and headed out the door. We headed out on a run away from the house for 10 minutes, reflecting on 2013 and leaving it all behind us. We set an alarm for 12 o'clock. When it went off, we stopped, exchanged HAPPY NEW YEARS, hugs and kisses, then turned around and ran into 2014, with a little more energy in every step. We were applauded by fireworks throughout the sky. I can't think of a better way to celebrate and symbolize the new year. I can definitely say that that was the LATEST and the EARLIEST that I have ever run before, and it was pretty cool to spend the first few minutes of the year doing one of my favorite things! My only wish is next year we will get more of the family to participate! When we returned home we exchanged more kisses and celebration, and headed promptly to bed. It was WAY past my bedtime.
