I've been a little quiet lately here on the blog but I have a good reason: our little girl decided to come early! She decided to show up in a slightly dramatic fashion, with my water breaking DURING my baby shower! She of course waited until the last gift was opened. And I didn't leave until I had enjoyed my beautiful cake!
It was so surreal that the process of her being born began with me surrounded by all of my closest friends and family! I am so thankful to have spent my last mommy-free day with all of my favorites!
We welcomed Makena Layne on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 8:44am. She is strong and healthy! She weighed 7lbs 1oz and was 20.2 in long.
I'm case you were wondering, Miss Oakley loves her new baby sister. She is always curious when M is crying, gives very gentle kisses on her head and rests her head on the pillow next to me when I feed her.
And we didn't forget...it's Oakley's 1st Birthday today!
I can't wait to share more of Makena with you in the coming weeks. Right now we are just soaking up every single a second!. I am so smitten with her, my days are just filled with snuggles and kisses! We are so blessed!
